READING: Head down to 192 Books for a very special and cool evening - James Salter, short fiction writer, teamed with his wife Kay on Life Is Meals, a illustrated food lover's companion that takes readers from a Twelfth Night cake in January to a champagne dinner on New Year's Eve. As always with 192 Books, call ahead to reserve a spot at their readings. - Krissa Corbett Cavouras

7pm // 192 Books [192 10th Ave at 21st St] // Free [Seating is limited, please call (212) 255-4022 for reservations]

THEATER: Charlotte Salomon was a Jewish artist who was born in Berlin and escaped to the south of France during the Second World War. While in exile she created 1,300 paintings over the course of two years; at 26 she was killed at Auschwitz. Theater company Polybe + Seats is now presenting The Charlotte Salomon Project, incorporating the work of several playwrights, composers and designers to bring Salomon’s story to life. Komail Aijazuddin promises that “if you are looking for visceral, raw, experimental theatre done with subtlety, ingenuity, and sophistication, then you can't miss this.” - John Del Signore

8pm // Brooklyn Fire Proof, 101 Richardson Street, 2nd Floor, Brooklyn // Tickets are $15 and going fast

MUSIC: Looking for some good post-violin recital music? How about heading over to The Knitting Factory for Up the Empire? You remember them, right, they sent us that card with kittens on it. Kittens bleeding from the eyes. They play with Dead Child and Under Satan's Sun. Sounds cheery!

Stars at Noon.mp3 - Up The Empire

8pm // Knitting Factory main space [74 Leonard St] // $12

PARTY: The All England Club is hosting a 'lil Oasis party tonight. There will be Oasis goodies and singalongs. We sort of love the idea of belting out "Champagne Supernova" with a whole bunch of strangers in a bar. Yeah. Anyway, preferred attire is tennis whites, but we bet they'll be cool with you wearing that Oasis t-shirt you have.

9pm to 2am // Lolita [Broome St at Allen] // Free
