Last Night's Action: A New York Minute

2006_10_srangerslogo.jpg-Rangers 3 Devils 2: Through two periods New Jersey displayed the form that has made them a great franchise the past twelve years. The Devils played great defense and when they did allow a shot, a rarity in the first 40 minutes; Martin Brodeur was there to back them up. Throw in a soft goal allowed by Lundqvist and a conversion on a 5-on-3 power play and New Jersey seemed in complete control heading into the third period.

It all changed in the blink of an eye as Jaromir Jagr took over. Jagr scored twice in 26-seconds to tie the game. Just over a minute later, Brendan Shanahan took a great feed from Michal Rozsival to give the Rangers the lead. With the Garden rocking, the Rangers clamped down and got some big saves from Lundqvist to preserve the win.

The win pulls New York into a tie with New Jersey for the Atlantic Division lead.
