its ok "voice of reason" and "Jessie" I understand that 2 he was foolish...but this is the part no one knew about...Shacka went there with a friend who had a bullet proof vest on at the time who shot the manager Shacka did nothing but spit in the mans face..the only reason why shacka got shot 9 times was because she was standing there with out a vest. "wrong place @ the wrong time"

I guess some of you retards can't read that the kid had a gun. Spitting in the face was just an additional disrespectful action before the shootout occurred. The kid lost said shootout, good riddance. I hope the manager gets off totally clean.

To those of Shaka Walcott`s family, I mean no disrespect but this guy was no angel. He spat in the manager`s face. I know that isn`t an excuse for the shooting... but come on, that`s the most disrespectful thing you can do to somebody... and it may push anyone off the edge. And Shaka`s intentions were wrong, he showed up with a gun, I hope the manager pleas self-defense. RIP Shaka... Keep ya head up Johannes...

Stone Cold makes some good points. This is a kid, carrying a gun, spitting on people? Surely he did not deserve to be killed, but it seems inevitable acting like that. I am certainly not surprised that he died for his obnoxious actions, though I do not think he should have had to die for them. I think most people agree spitting on people and carrying a gun are not necessary and, in fact, going to cause more problems than they will solve. I feel terrible for this kid's family. It is a tragedy. But a tragedy that could have easily been avoided (respected the decision not to be served, going somewhere else, choosing not to spit or continue the confrontation).

A good lawyer will get the manager off on self defense. He was at work. He was approached. He was portecting the establishment. He was protecting his own life while leaving the establishment. This may not be the case 100%, however, a good lawyer can make it look that way.

I would like to know the entire story. As it stands, spitting in someones face because you are not getting served is not enough to risk killing someone over or dying. If his life (the 16 year olds) was threatened it is another story. It looks more like the managers life was at risk because the young man went to the premisis with a weapon. The manager was correct not to serve the young guy. It is the right of the establishment to make that choice, especially, around closing time. Also, the manager's instincts were correct. He knew that this guy was about trouble. What if they had intentions to rob the place? It was closing time. Why would he, 16 year old, carry a gun there knowing there was potential for more confrontation? I have been to that Burger King. The manager and the owner are very strick, as they should be. You may be mistaking rudeness for strick management. Yes, you have to manage customers and employees. And further more, what is a 16 year old doing spitting in the face of a 45 year old man. Something is wrong with the picture. What is the world coming to if an elder is not getting their due respect. He is the elderly man. He is the manager of the establishment. Most importantly, he is responsible to the Burger King establishment. If the 16year old really wanted something to eat, there are other fast food joints all along Boston Post Road up a few lights.
