The Daily News uses today's cover to wonder about Hillary Clinton's march to the Presidency. Though many signs point to her running (the campaign war chest! winning re-election by even taking some Republican areas in NY State!), she still needs to make the decision. Republican Representative Peter King tells the Daily News that the GOP shouldn't underestimate Clinton - and husband Bill.
Given the midterm election results, the Daily News' Michael Daly suggests that "there's a clear gender and cultural issue in politics today and it favors Democrats." Which means you can bet on Hillary running for President.
"I've seen her walk into a room full of firemen on Long Island who really had no use for her, and by the end they're asking her for pictures with their children," said Long Island GOP Rep. Pete King.
"Probably a lot of Republicans would want Hillary, but I think they'd be making a mistake," he said, pointing out that Democrats licked their chops over Ronald Reagan in 1980."The Clintons have the best political team in the country - they're like the government in exile," King said.
The AP reports that while talking to reporters on Friday, Clinton said she was "exhausted" from campaigning and wanted to "take some time and get focused on the work ahead of us," rather than think about running for President just yet.
And the NY Times has an editorial about how the NY State Republican Party needs to rebuild itself, complete with hosannas for Mayor Bloomberg: "Some upstaters regard Mr. Bloomberg as too independent — their term is RINO, or Republican in Name Only. That’s a self-destructive attitude for a party on the ropes. New York’s G.O.P. should embrace the city’s dynamic mayor as its guiding star."

The only way the Democrats lose in 2008 is IF they nominate Hillary. Let's face it folks, she is simply toxic, right or wrong, to a large percentage of the electorate. I am continually surprised by the ignoring and omission of the one person who could certainly derail the Hillary Express: Al Gore. He was shafted in 2000, was right on the war, and has been a true visionary on the environment. He sits on the board of Apple, are we in store for an Ipod like product introduction?

If she's 'exhausted' by her cake-walk of a re-election than she doesn't have what it takes for a campaign for President.
If she's comparing this election against a guy most of the state probably couldn't even name vs running against Rudy Giuliani, then she's dumb. New York's Republican leadership didn't managed one candidate to even challenge her.
If the RNC actually puts Rudy against her, winning New York probably won't even happen, she might lose in one of the largest margins ever.

Hillary only has a prayer if she can convince Bill to run as her VP.
Hillary's so polarizing that she even polarizes her own Democrats. The only ones who like her now basically are the ones taken in by name recognition and who don't know her well. Those who have followed her stands and decisions are very frustrated by what they see-- anger about her war-boosting and her support for outsourcing, and for bills on things like Chapter 7 that hit poor Americans especially hard.
There is already an enormously large contingent of Democrats who won't support and won't vote for her even if she were nominated in 2008. The Democrats are basically asking for disaster if they nominate her for that ticket. They have better prospects-- John Edwards, Barack Obama, Wesley Clark, Bill Richardson, maybe even Brian Schweitzer strike mas as the best.
Anybody who can't figure out that "Exhausted" is a code for "I don't feel like answering your question right now" hasn't been playing the spin game long enough.
Well she's not running for president so, Get to work on her relationship with her husband! Get back to satisfying her man like a good wife should ! I mean really do you think that if Hill was banging the hell out Bill he would have cheated? I don't think so, She would have total control over him .
Poster NOT AMUSED sounds like an under 17 male who ended up here by mistake. DUDE! the url you're looking for is http://www.wtfpeople.com/
I think Peter King has it right. She didn't get this far by hot knowing how to handle a crowd. Most of the people who really hate her, have never heard her. They've heard Hannity and Limbaugh talk ABOUT her, but they don't know her. In the election they'll get to know her. I live in NY state. When she first ran so many Wingers hated her, now even they have to admit she did a good job as Senator. She wins people over.
