I guess Anerica will be in default soon. Or dollar is going to collapse. This is something like an omen. I heard this Washington's face is pictured on one-dollar bill. By the way, the latest 10-dollar bill has a lot of red color, torch and inscription "WE THE PEOPLE". For whom are this signs? For those people it may concern? Dollar had never contained red color yet.

This was an offensive, criminal act. (I assume that offending/shocking was partly the motive.) If there is a political basis for attacking a public symbol of an historical figure, there are many methods of protest which might elicit sympathy to one's point of view. However, iconclasm is a mute, victimising act. It's a brutal form of suggestion, signifying mainly the intent to harm. What else was this person trying to express? I'm curious, but I doubt that the answer could be very satisfying. Perhaps this was more in the way of a prank, and leaving the dollar-bill head in place of the sculpted head was meant to be taken for an act of wit. If so, poetic justice would have the prankster caught and treated with like humor. (Not my idea of justice, but it flows from the act.)
