Last Night's Action: A Nice Comeback

2006_04_sknickslogo.jpg-Knicks 109 Denver 107: Maybe Isiah needs to threaten his team more. The Knicks didn’t quit Wednesday, rallying from a 10-point defecit with less than 10 minutes remaining to squeak out an impressive win in Denver. Jamal Crawford had a huge game, scoring 35 and hitting the winning basket.

Off the court, Cablevision disclosed that Larry Brown received “only” $18.5 million as his settlement from the Knicks. Larry had $40 million remaining on his deal, so this is a victory for the franchise and a clear indication that Brown violated the terms of his contract. He still got $29 million for 23 wins, so don’t feel too badly for him.

-Rangers 4 Panthers 3 (Shootout): For most of two periods, it looked as if New York would coast to an easy win. They built a 2-0 lead and apart from Jaromir Jagr losing some teeth, everything seemed fine. But, Florida woke up and forced overtime and then a shootout. Henrik Lundqvist was stellar in net, stopping 36 shots in the game and all 3 that he faced in the shootout.

-Nets 96 Utah 89: New Jersey received a scare when Vince Carter limped off the court, but he returned and scored 13 points in the fourth quarter to lead the Nets to the win.
