Felony For Man Who Threw Cat Out of the Window

2006_11_midnightcat.jpgLast month, a woman walking on Blake Avenue in Brooklyn was almost hit by a cat that fell out of the air. The owner, Don Carter, who the woman saw looking at his third floor apartment window, took a limping Midnight the cat back inside. An anonymous tip was called into the ASPCA, and when a special agent interviewed him, Carter said the cat fell out of the window. Then he confessed that he threw her out because she wandered into an off-limits room, his son's bedroom. Apparently he thought the cat would survive the fall.

Carter was arrested and charged with aggravated animal cruelty and reckless endangerment. The NY Sun reports that "broken right leg and injuries to her jaw. Seven screws and a metal plate were required to allow her to walk again." Midnight is recovering at the ASPCA hospital.

An eye for an eye law would work in this case.

Mr Carter should himself be thrown out of a window

According to the Daily News ...This piece of SH*T came downstairs after he threw the cat out the window, picked the cat up and brought it back upstairs to his apartment.

If the good Samaritan hadn't made a phone call to the ASPCA he probably would have let the poor thing slowly die in agony...

GGrrrrrrrrrr..!

One should never defenestrate a feline.
:(

My cat got a running head start, jumped onto the window sill and unfortunately kept going! She accidentally fell out the open window --6 stories down! I ran downstairs expecting the worst, preparing myself for the blood & gore & horror-- but she was huddled against the building, shaken but unharmed. How many times I thanked God that day, I'll never be able to count. My windows were always closed after that.

However this story is just sad. I hope Midnight finds a good home.

Cats instinctually spread their bodies out in a fall, like a kind of parachute, but as weird as it sounds I think they get hurt if they fall from a short distance, and don't have time to spread out to slow down their fall....

Seven screws and a metal plate were required? Who paid for that unnecessary operation? There are kids who need lifesaving operations, but lets all make sure this cat is okay. Screwed up society.

looking out his apartment window, not at it, right?

dammit! my one chance to use the word "defenstrate" and janine beats me too it!

When Carter, who is 5-feet-10 and weighs 260 pounds, was brought to Central Booking in Brooklyn Tuesday night, he became "angry and violent," according to ASPCA Assistant Director Joseph Pentangelo. Carter was transferred to Kings County Hospital.

Somebody needs to be on a diet!

This beast has a child? ACS needs to investigate!
Children & animals are in grave danger around this creep.
