Get Ready to Vote Tomorrow!

2006_11_hillbill.jpg

Tomorrow is Election Day! There are many big elections this year, so if you haven't thought about how you're voting, we highly recommend Gotham Gazette's Guide For The Last Minute Voter, 2006 General Election to understand the candidates and issues. Many races seem like runaways (Governor, Senate), but the State Comptroller race is in play, as are some Congressional races; you may also be able to vote for State Assembly races. And there are also civil and supreme court judge elections - the guide links to the state Bar Association's voter's guide.

Hopefully you know where to vote already, but if not, here's how you can find your polling place.

Bill Clinton can't be the first Man. That is a feminine title. And you can't be a "fist man" if you were already president. We will call him Honorable Duke of the USA (peer of the highest rank. ) However, I have heard he would be head of the United Nations, which means two for one as Hillary said years ago.

Yo, mh---I guess political humor's not your thing. *sigh*

But I'm actually hoping Obama will be our next president.

I think Bill should be known as "the first gentleman of the United States."

  • Dude

Will Bill be known as the "First Man" if Hill is elected President?

Hal2814: that is not a very smart theory. That like saying that she is already an accomplished lawyer with great influence and, therefore, she would remain a lawyer instead of becoming and influential senator. You also give Hillary very little credit. She can be just as persuasive over the senate as President. "With all there is -why settle for just a piece of sky?" (Yentel)

Who would go down in history as the Majority Leader of the senate when they would be remembered as the President of the United States, a wealthy country, and the first sitting FEMALE PRESIDENT, with great influence over the world. She can run things just fine from the oval office and have just as much influence over a Democratic senate while also deminishing Bipartisan politics.

Example: Eleanor Roosevelt ran things quite well indirectly through her husband and directly after her husband's death. She was incredibly persuasive. Although she was not the Senate Majority Leader, she had great influence with male and female politicians during her lifetime. In this new era, Hillary will run things from the oval office and will do great. She has great woman and men working on her behalf.

If the Dems take back the Senate, Hillary could become Senate Majority Leader and wield considerable power over legislation regarding issues she's worked on for years. Who knows, she might enjoy the platform and not run for President in 2008. I suspect that's the reason for the Republican collapse of 2006--it's a trick to keep Hillary out of the White House!

That's all well and good, but where do we go to drink and watch the results?
