When China gets involved it will be WWIII. "But calling the war in afghanistan and Iraq is vague" Do you mean those wars should not be called wars? I agree that had the republicans not waged war on Iraq it would be better for them but they would still look like idiots for other reasons.

#10: I'm aware of our wars. But calling the war in afghanistan and Iraq is vague... to put it simply. It's World War III. Every major nation and allied force is involved and it's all escalating. The main enemy, al qeada declared war on the US. And since they're located everywhere on earth as sleepers, it's a World War not just an Iraq war. If we had just stuck to the focus: Afghanistan, the republicans would not be looking like a bunch of idiots right now. Iraq has soiled any trust we have with our country. It does however, make it clear that Iran is surrounded on all major fronts.

Edex, this country has been at war more often than not. These are just the major wars. When you factor in the minor ones it comes to about 12 years of peace since 1776. the quote about the army is not the opinion of gothamist, is what was said in the news investigation by a soldier in the US Army. I have the utmost repsect for the dedicated people in the armed forces of the US and allied forces. there are exceptions, but as every group goes, the "outspoken" ones are the ones who always attract the attention of the media... enemy or allied. of course "The War ended" 60 years ago. However, these soldiers leave out one vital detail. This is the 100 year war or more commonly known as World War III.

This weekend somebody was just telling me about the plans for Surf Ave on Coney Is. (the main drag with Nathan's and the Cyclone..) They said that some news had been published in the Post last week. Anyway, sounds like it's going to freak people out.

That New Yorker article was awful. What was it for? McGrath missed a great opportunity to write something insightful on transportation and land use issues in NYC, but instead wrote a bunch of bad character sketches. By the end of the article I was so glad it was over, the thing was so boring.

Regarding the posted article "Army Recruiters Accused of Misleading Students to Get Them to Enlist" your commentary implies that this is a regular practice. Having been recruited into the Army as well as having worked as an Army recruiter myself I can tell you that such examples are the exception rather than the rule. I respectfully ask that you take care as to how you portray the many hardworking and dedicated soldiers who are working in New York City and that you avoid making blanket statements like the one above.
