Teens Fight in Subway Station

2006_11_flushms.jpgYesterday morning, a group of teens got into a fight that left two wounded at the Main Street 7 station in Flushing. The fight started on the street, but it moved into the station, where the teens used knives and bottles. As many as 6-12 people may have been involved, and 14 year old Eric Valasquez was charged with stabbing a 17 year old in the chest and a 19 year old in the back. The police say his case will probably be handled by family court.

The victims were Ecuadorean and the attackers were Mexicans; the victims' families say those two groups often fight in the area. And a newsstand operator at the station told the Post, "There was blood everywhere. Their lives just started, and they were fighting already," he said.
