- Rangers 3 San Jose 1: New York completed a successful west coast swing with their second win in as many nights. Kevin Weekes looked stellar between the pipes, stopping 29 of 30 shots and Matt Cullen, Martin Straka and Brendan Shanahan scored. With Weekes playing well in consecutive games, the question is, who will start in goal on Sunday?
- Derek Jeter wins another gold glove: Jeter is many things, but a great defensive player is not one of them. Yet, he was voted the best defensive shortstop in the American League for the third time yesterday. Michael Young and Orlando Cabrera will have to wait another year for the recognition they deserve.
Kenny Rogers won as well leading us to ask: does his come with the pine tar on it?
- David Wright hits a big home run: Sure it came two weeks late, but at least this proves he doesn't crack under the postseason pressure like A-Rod, right?

For chrissakes, another pine tar joke?
David Wright hit a home run in an exhibition game in Japan. How is that "under pressure"? I mean, come on. The game ended tied.
Why is it when the Rangers play either the Isles or Devils, it gets mentioned b/c it's two local teams playing each other; but when the Isles and Devils meet, it doens't get mentioned? There are certainly plenty of Isles and Devils fans in the city for these "local" teams - go isles!
seriously! First Place Islanders!

Seriously is right - they're playing great right now - go isles!
EricGewiz, Because neither the Devils nor Islanders play in New York City aka Gotham?
The only way the Islanders are in first place is alphabetically
Well...the Giants and Jets get mentioned - and they, like the Islanders, play outside of NYC and have NY in front of their name. Also, the Nets get mentioned occasionally (without having played the Knicks), and the Devils' don't?
That's just inconsistent.
You're right, Eric, I should have covered it, sorry.
Rangers? Islanders? Devils? Bah.
Sabres! Get on your knees and bow before them fools.
