November 3: Chocolate and Dessert Wine Seminar
Two award winners paired with two sinful delights -- what could be better? James Beard Pastry Chef of the Year, Jacques Torres and James Beard Sommelier of the Year, Jean Luc Le Du join forces for these seminars focusing on chocolate and dessert wine. Three seminars at 6:30, 7:00 and 7:30, at Le Du's Wines, 600 Washington St between Morton and Leroy. $25. Seating is limited and reservations are required with a credit card. November 5: Tour the James Beard House
Take a tour through James Beard's former home, now home to the foundation that honors his legacy. The James Beard Foundation offers culinary programs, events, awards, and scholarships, and you can learn more about them at this open house, featuring refreshments prepared by students at the Institute of Culinary Education. 1:00 pm to 5:00 pm, James Beard House, 167 West 12th Street.

November 6: Slow Food Harvest Dinner at Flatbush Farm
Join Brooklyn's Sixpoint Craft Ales Brewery, and Chef Eric Lind from Flatbush Farm for a special Slow Food Harvest Dinner featuring locally produced food and handcrafted beer. 7:30 p.m., at Flatbush Farm, 76-78 St. Marks Ave. Brooklyn. $40/person. Reservations are strongly recommended; call 718-622-3276 by November 3rd for reservations.

Come hear acclaimed author and wine columnist Jay McInerney read from his latest book, A Hedonist in the Cellar, which will also be available for purchase and signing. And, of course, there will be wine to taste while you're there. Free. Reservations not required. 6 – 8 pm, Bottlerocket Wine & Spirit, 5 West 19th Street.

November 8: The Chef's Table at the Waldorf
The Chef's Table is returning for a series of dinners throughout the fall and winter that offer an opportunity to enjoy an elaborate five-course dinner (paired with wine) prepared by Executive Chef John Doherty, whose first cookbook, The Waldorf-Astoria Cookbook, was released this fall. The stove-side dinners take place in the hotel's main kitchen and will be held on November 8 and 17. $150 per person, plus tax and gratuity. Please call for availability and reservations

November 8: Formaggio e Vino
Cheese experts Waldemar and Nadia present the best of Italian cheese and wine from the Piedmont to Tuscany. Wine master extraordinaire and co-owner of Aroma Vito Polosa will pair the cheeses with unique wines selected from Aroma's cellar. Tickets are $45 per person.
