I would like to say as someone who lives here how I am ashamed of the people who are judging my whole town on some stories you heard in the news. If there was any racism here it was the officer who beat a women then beat the kid who was trying to help her, as for the n word the cop added that to help his case he knows people jump when they hear that word was used. yes there was a egg thrown and yes it was wrong but I am positive it was not the only one thrown on Halloween,I think a cop acting this way over a egg was looking for a reason to do something. In other towns they call it Halloween fun. We are no more racist here then anywhere else and there are no flags flown here besides the American one. White trash I think not, the town is firefighters, cops, or other working class people. Dont judge on a story in the news you should know they dont always tell the whole story or the truth. Cant you see in the picture there was no crowd no one jumped him he over reacted. Do you think the cops are going to tell you that, they protect there own. This police officers has many complaints about him over reacting, but they wont tell you that. They also dont tell you they will not accept any eye witness reports because they do not want the truth out it does not look good for them. This cop should not be on the streets. Why is racism only a one way street open your eyes. look at the picture agin with your eyes open this time.

*before they talk sh*t about a respectable community populated by decent citizens.* right. decent citizens scream "nigger" they also attack the poice and hang confederate flags off their homes. Decent; de‧cent –adjective 1. conforming to the recognized standard of propriety, good taste, modesty, etc., as in behavior or speech. the behavior of these people, is a far cry from decent. a better descriptive would be: lacking and disrespectful.

I'm in. Arrogance has completely taken over the NYPD. I feel bad for the officers that still attempt to uphold the law. As a person who feels that they are too good to be associated with this community, "outtarockaway" should make an attempt to form a proper sentence before they talk sh*t about a respectable community populated by decent citizens.

Disgruntled Citizen is right. Too many police officers are mindless thugs. Perhaps we could establish a democracy where we can do something about that? Who's in?

Maybe people should stop worrying about race and worry about the fact that one of New York City's "Finest" thinks it is appropriate to beat a woman because he doesn't like the answer to his question.

Typical Broad Channel, that place needs to be buried under Jamaica Bay. I have never encountered the most backward, ignorant and racist people. I hope the cops lock everyone up.
