There are many different stories flying around about the fatal argument at the midtown halal stand. The brother of victim Noel Gibbons spoke to the Daily News about what happened. Shannon Gibbons says that he, Noel, and a friend were waiting on line when Ziad Tayeh said they had cut in front of him.
"I think I was in front of you," said Tayeh, according to Shannon Gibbons.Tayeh's mother, though, told Metro, “[Her son] was wearing a diamond ring and a bracelet. They were pushing him around and he just went to the car and drove away." She also mentioned that Tayeh had "multiple leg surgeries and could not run away from the three teens.""We just ignored him," he recalled. But when they took off in Gibbons' car - a brand-new 2007 Toyota Yaris - Tayeh tailed them through two traffic signals, Shannon Gibbons said.
Twice they pulled over to let him pass, but both times he kept following them, he said. The third time, Tayeh jumped out and stabbed Noel Gibbons in the back before speeding off in his Lexus, cops said.
Tayeh was charged with second degree murder. Gibbons had been living in wealthy Short Hills, NJ with a family that had employed his mother as a nanny (the rest of the Gibbons family live in Jersey City). The father, Michael Bosches, said, "He was such a good kid. He worked 45 hours a week," while his son Michael said, “I can believe that standing in a food line, he or anybody else might say, 'Hey man, you cut!' But that’s all I could see him doing.”

I believe I am patient, understanding and usually very calm but there are days when some idiots can really push a person over the edge...A few months ago I was in transit standing near a small Asian woman who was sitting. I guess my closeness was annoying her-- there was no where else for me to stand due to crowding-- and she SLAPPED my leg 3 times before I realized what she was doing (I thought it was her foot accidentally hitting me until I looked down during that third smack) and I can't even begin to tell you how ready I felt to unleash my wrath on her...
ABC Girl - Did you try asking her if she was having a problem? Usually when confronted, people either go apeshit ballistic (which is when you movw doesn the car), or act sheepish and apologize. Either way, you win. (Unless she stabs you).
Back to the maint topic, though, sounds like this Tayeh guy messed up royally even if they were confronting him. I mean, if they were threatening him, he was in an SUV near Times Square. Aren'tthere somewhere around 20,000 cops there at night?? I hope he goes to jail for life to learn from his mistake.

Also, I agree that sometimes being around all these stupid people all day makes me feel crazy and angry, but stabbing someone is very serious and stabbing them to death is much much more than shoving your way through a costume store or yelling at someone on the train.

Dhex, no one wants to suffer, in that sense we are all the same. How we conform that into our individual existence can be influenced by a great many factors. But we are all the same and by virtue of that capable of the same things. No one is immune from their own humanity.
A little story about something I learned about myself:
I was on the subway recently, and a guy bumped into me, and I told him to watch it. He then told me that maybe I should watch it, and next thing I know, there's a few verbal exchanges and tough-guy stares, but then I realized something ... it really wasn't a big deal, so I said to him (or something like this), "You know, I'm sorry. I doubt you meant to bump me, and my reaction and what I said wasn't right. I had a bad day at work, and I'm tired, so I'm sorry for being aggressive." He then said, "I had a bad day too, and I'm sorry for bumping into you and being an asshole." We shook hands, and I instantly felt better.
I could've easily punched this guy because I was getting all worked over it, but I didn't. I learned that I don't have the stomach or nerve to start a fight, but is that a bad thing or something as small as a bump or cutting a line?

It's not hard to believe that you knew him; I think the poster meant that it was hard to believe that you actually went to school given your weak grasp of English grammar and spelling.
Snackman made a humorous point, but I personally think what's hard to believe is that someone who gets worked up enough over an ALLEGED line cutting is a "good person", "sweet person", and "good friend". Everybody gets upset, and nobody is perfect, but to STAB someone and KILL them is an extreme outlet of anger for someone who was so "much of a good person". I knew Noel. HE was a good person. Not because he worked 45 hours a week while putting himself through school, or because he volunteered at a hospital, but because he had a good heart, cared about others and left a lasting positive impression on the lives of all he came in contact with. I actually knew the kid Noel, as a matter of fact i knew the whole damn family, i really hate to say this but, they were not nice people. They went to the same high school as me. They were alway starting fights in school. And my school was one of those places, where the board of ed did not tolerate that. Shannon actually got expelled from high, month before he was suppose to graduate..These kids knew how to get underneath peoples skin. Myself actually got in a brawl with Shannon, back few years ago. I had a broken hand at that point, and this kid got me soo mad that i didn't even consider the situation and i just ended up throwing a punch at the kid. His family is known for filing false charges. His sister actually got one of my good freinds arrested, by accussing him of "grabing her chest", she just got dissed by my boy and couldnt do shit about it... But i actually want to help Ziad. I do not know the kid myself, but im 100% sure hes innocent. I knew Shannon and Noel pretty well, and i told them few years ago, your mouth is going to get you in a lot of Sh*t...Ziad or any of his freinds read this, tell him i have few info on the family which may help him prove his innocence.

Stupid Sh*t like that (trash talkin)got Noel killed, not "punks" like me...i know where noel came from...jersey City....but you got to realize something, Millburn/Shorthills aint the hood...and he was acting like he's in the hood, instead of making friends he made enemies. I know how these guys are... you guys act madd tough when your with bunch of people, but when your by yourself, you guys are out like a fat girl in dodge ball... out of all the brother and sisters i actually liked Noel.. Shannon just had a bad infuence on him.. Whenever he was by himself he would be nice and calm, as soon as he would be with his brother...he would turn into a tough guy...My friends and I been to court soo many times for B.S. reason cause of them...They know how to file charges but can't show up to the court, there just lucky we never filed a counter claim against these guys... These guys are not worth it, and i just dont want them to ruin some kids life (Ziad Tayeh), cause they couldn't keep there mouth shut...i told them SO MANY times take it easy or else....now look....Its really sad that he died, but i hope his brother and sister could learn a lesson and calm down and get there act straight....
