I disagree. 1. Tobacco is tobacco, not altered. Elements are added to the actual cut to make it more desireable or potent. Who cares? Why are you smoking if you know it's bad? QUIT! (it's your right i know... that's wasn't my point). 2. Guns are not altered. Stronger, armor piercing bullets are made and added to the equation. Smaller guns are made for concealment. 3. Beef is altered. More fat is added, plus a variety of presevatives to keep it fresh, such as high fructose corn syrup. 3.2. McDonalds is as bad as Marlboro. In fact, McDonalds will probably kill you faster. All ads are geared towards children and black people... ACCOUNTABILITY was my main focus... THE MTA IS GUILTY!!!

"I smoke 3 packs a day, I blame the cigarette companies, not my own weak willpower..." i'm all for personal accountablity, however, this is a terrible example. it's a proven fact that cigarette companies conspired to entice children to smoke via advertising, product placement and general cultural brainwashing. not to mention the fact that they intentionally altered the chemical makeup of cigarette tobacco in order to make them more addictive.

True, true edex. All they have to do is look at our govt and business leaders for that cue. I'm working with the TA on a project right now. All I can say is that they really are the bastards they seem. And all I can do is hope for lots of bad press.

The MTA is following our current society. When something goes wrong the blame game begins. "I tripped on the curb... I blame the city for my clumsiness." "My kid just shot up a school, I blame video games, tv and trenchcoats — not my parenting..." "I smoke 3 packs a day, I blame the cigarette companies, not my own weak willpower..." "I'm fat, I blame McDonalds..." While we all know the MTA is at fault, this is what we have become. It's quite sad.

It really is astounding how consistently the MTA finds somebody else to blame for every single thing that ever goes wrong in the transit system. I guess if nothing else, their creativity is to be applauded.
