some of the routs it comes up with are crazy: park slope to jfk by way of the bqe to the lie to the van wyck - thats nuts. its a muthafu*king cab drivers dream, a tour of all the low glory of pretty much all the highways of queens. insane

It's actually pretty accurate. Mine always came within a dollar. One thing interesting I realized: we judge distance by subway stops. The Lower East Side is almost the same distance and cab fare away from Williamsburg as it is to Hell's Kitchen. But Hell's Kitchen seems so much farther away in my mind because of the complex subway ride to get there.

Everything I've tried is a little low (~10%). But, its pretty damn close. It would be interesting if you could change the route, as the route it selected for the trip i tested was not the "best" way.
