Halloween is just arond the corner, and a new haunted house has been developed to fit your fears! The creators of Haunted House NYC polled people in each borough about their top 13 fears, and each haunted house in each borough was developed differently based on that poll.
The New Yorker says "People from the Bronx and Queens, they said, tend to fear things that might actually happen, like being mugged (harpaxophobia), while Manhattanites are frightened of fantastical and unlikely occurrences (flying sharks, riding in an elevator that rockets through the roof of a building). In Manhattan and Brooklyn, we heard 'fear of the homeless,' " Smithyman said. "Then, in the Bronx, we heard 'fear of becoming homeless.' " Staten Island residents apparently dread chemical spills and gas leaks."
Flying sharks?! What's your biggest fear?
More details on the house at their website.

my biggest fear is being locked in the men's room at port authority while george segal sits on a sink playing the banjo.
My biggest fear is correcting all the grammar mistakes on Gothamist.
i went to this...it was the worst thing i've experienced in a while. although, it does make for a good excuse to hold a girl's hand if shes scared.

Whatever you do, don't go on a weekend. I took some vistors I had staying with me this past weekend on Saturday night to the one in the East Village. We ended up waiting on line for about an hour and half, being herded like cattle between the roped barriers. That whole experience really took the fun out of the whole thing. By the time I got inside I was so annoyed at having stood there for so long that my heart really wasn't in it anymore. I walked away thinking "that didn't scare me at all" and "that just wasn't worth it."
The only plus was that there was a guy walking through the line selling beers.
I did have some friends who went mid week and had a much better experience.
my worst fear is someone pushing me forward onto a blackboard and having my teeth scrape down the front.
only one thing in NYC scares me, the mole people!....dont look under the platform
Fear of the homeless? My God, that's ridiculous.
Oh god Nick, shut the fuck up...

"Staten Island residents apparently dread chemical spills and gas leaks." Yeah, because those never happen in SI. Love living on the island but the the "guinea gangplank" falling into the bay is probably my worst fear.
I just had to post this so there wouldn't be 13! comments!
1) a full-blown attack of the stealth maple syrup people (we all know they exist)
2) people who have convinced themselves that "waiting on line" is proper English
