The above is from a set of panoramas taken at CBGB. If you ever feel the need to revisit the sticker wallpapered room again, now you can!
While you gaze at the visually stimulating shots of the bathroom, maybe you want to listen to the October 15th Patti Smith set. Sirius is broadcasting the last show ever at CBGB for free, so tune in to channel 24 tomorrow at 2pm EST to listen.

i didnt follow this story too closely...can someone explain why, if it was just a matter of $$$, some of the wealthy musicians who got their start here couldn't salvage the situation???
Their lease was up, plain & simple. If Hilly Crystal were a smart man he would have purchased the space back in the late 70's when it wasn't worth a fraction of the value it is now. With the amount of dough that guy has made on the merchandise I have to agree it doesn't make sense the club is closing...
why not one of the stage?? (there sometimes seems to be an unhealthy obsession with the CB's bathroom.)
Hilly has lung cancer. He's probably going to die relatively soon. He probably wanted to see the club close with glory while he was still alive.
Imminent death =
Not very much motive to go through a lot of red tape to keep the club open.
The Vegas museum concept is interesting. People have theorized he wanted to provide an easier, steadier source of income for his family once he's gone.
No stage, no backstage area. What gives?
