24 in Times Square

2006_10_arts_24.jpgPublicity stunts are way cooler when Jack Bauer is somehow involved.

If you're a 24 fan you may want to head over to Times Square today around 3pm, where you will see a number of CTU agents walking around and passing out souvenirs from the show (we just want to see the tourists react to Time Square flooded with CTU agents). There will also be a big screen (43rd Street and Seventh Avenue) where you can expect to see agent Jack Bauer in an extended trailer, which will preview the sixth season of the show. Or you can avoid Times Square and watch the trailer right here. The season doesn't begin until January, but it starts off with a two day, four hour event!

It would be great if they also showed this clip of Kiefer on the big screen above Times Square!

I happened to be in Times Square when this 24 schwagfest went down. Schwag included 24 baseball hats, pocket sized am/fm radios, and coupons for discounts on the previous seasons' CDs. The event began at 3. By 3:05 the hats were gone. By 3:08 the radios were gone and by 3:11 the event was effectively over. It was savage. I had a large man literally jump up and over me (landing on my shoulder) as he made a desperation grab for one of the final radios. He got the radio, I got a kink in my neck. Still, I can't wait for the new season!!
