The police are looking for a man who fatally shot three people, including a young child, near the Van Cortlandt Golf Course this morning. All three victims were in the golf course's parking lot, near Broadway and 242nd Street. WABC 7 says that a man and a woman were found in one section, and the child was found in another area. Police are looking for two suspects who left the scene.
The Van Cortlandt Golf Course's hours are dawn to dusk; the shooting occured before 8AM. It is also the oldest golf course in the country.

This area is pretty quiet..I don't know who would park over there..I know I wouldn't because it is pretty barren..
i run at van cortlandt every other day at dawn...around 7am. today i did not run because of the rain. glad i didn't.
This is a VERY quiet area! I used to live at 242nd & Broadway and the only crime in the area was minor brawls and drinkings tickets courtesy of the Manhattan College kids. This has to be the first homicides in years.
Sounds like an execution to me. The mets lost last night. Could it be that the husband was betting and lost alot of someone elses money. Or maybe it was drug related. Mobsters don't kill children unless they are sending someone a message.
Hate to add a correction to a tradgedy, but the oldest golf course in the U.S. is in Yonkers, a few miles north of Van Cortlandt Park.
There have been a rash of more violent crimes in the 50 Precinct. Having lived at, or near that corner for the past six years, its disheartening to see the neighborhood fall further.
Maybe they meant it's the Oldest Public Golf course in the U.S.?

mr. dennis if the authorities would get crystal meth out of the suburbs, there will have less violence.
People do not drive to a secluded area for at an early part of the morning and get shot for no reason . There is something very ironic about what happened. I bet one of the adults in that car had no clue as to the magnitude of the problem they had gone to confront. The poor kid probably ran for their little life. No place to run and no place to hide in an open area.

tb, I don't get it.... I thought that I understood golf. Was it a par 3 shot on the back nine for a birdie? Or 3 shots for a birdie? players had a shotgun start at the begining of the tournament, three people two hole locations.
