Giants Look For A Winning Streak

2006_10_sgiantsfalcons.gifThe Giant defense woke up last week, holding Washington to only three points. They will need a similar performance this week against Michael Vick and the Atlanta Falcons. While many knock Vick for his lack of passing ability, he is incredibly dangerous when pressured, escaping the rush and creating big gains with his legs. The Giants defensive ends will need to “stay home” to make sure he doesn't leave the pocket.

Defensively, Atlanta is very hard to run against, allowing only 69.2 yards per game. They are not as strong against the pass, and Eli Manning will need to have another good game to bring home the victory.

The Falcons have never been able to adequately replace Jay Feely and have recently signed Morten Anderson to handle field goals. Anderson who kicked with the Giants in 2001 is 46-years old and while still accurate, does not have the leg for long kicks. Gothamist predicts a shootout with Feely getting revenge on his old team at the end. Giants win this 34-31.
