It's Law & Order: Public School Division! Teacher Yolanda Moorjaney is on trial for allegedly writing "hateful" graffiti in the girls' bathroom at PS 256 in Queens. Moorjaney, who is white, is accused of writing things like "N-----r Die!" and sexual references. From the Daily News:
The two detectives, who were hiding in a classroom across the hall, had made sure there was no graffiti before Moorjaney entered. They rushed into the bathroom as soon as she left and found the graffiti inside a stall, Farrugia said.Hmm, it seems pretty damning, though Moorjaney's lawyer emphasizes that no one actually saw her in the bathroom. Yeah, maybe she just carries around black markers because the smell is fun.When they stopped the teacher, the detectives found she was carrying a black marker capable of making the graffiti.
Yesterday, one of the detectives testified that he was 3 feet away with a partial view of the bathroom door through a small window when Moorjaney entered.
He showed photographs of the graffiti and identified Moorjaney as the only person who went into the bathroom that morning.

Check inside any teachers bag or pockets and they will have at least 1 marker, probably some glue sticks, and tape. Sounds like someone was out to get her regardless.

Teach2006 is a total liar. Yolanda is not Pakistani and Italian. She is Chinese and Italian. I've known her since 1987. What the reports fail to make mention of is that Yolanda taught in that very same school for 7 years. Anyone here know and "racists" that hang out with the people they hate for 7 years?

yolanda moorjaney was finally and correctly found innocent of this ridiculous charge against her. i have known her for almost 20 years, and know that she would never write or say such horrible things. maybe now she can finally have her life back, since this outstanding judge and a.d.a. has made her suffer for almost 3 years. hail the jury system!!!!

Nynetguy here. Teach2006 and that Paretn1 obviously have their gears to grind and unless they simply come out and spill the beans we'llnever know what their particular gripe is. As far as I'm concerned I could care less. I've known Yo since high school. 1987.

You learn a lot about people in 20 years and I can honestly say that Yo is the most caring, giving and loving person that I've ever known. She dedicated her life to reaching out to those with severe developmental disorders and for lousy pay too. Not many of us could do that.
I'm very glad that the jury was able to see this trial for the witchhunt that it truly was. Hopefully the Board of Ed will do the same since they are now going after her for all the reported incidents at the school.
What's amazing is the fact that even after Yolanda's arrest the graffitti continued. Amazingly that was never made public.
