First of all...this was a hate crime! It was a gay hate crime! Whether it be gay, black, or black on white...it is ALL wrong. I went to school with Mike. Nobody deserves to die in this way! It was a bias attack...these guys pretended to be gay to meet up with Mike to rob and beat him up. They lured him to that spot. For what other reason I ask the fools who say this is not a bias attack? I bet ya can't answer that! People need to condemn all of these attacks.....I am white! I condemn anyone who kills, beats, or harms any other because of what they look like or their sexual orientation. It doesn't matter that a white man at some point was chased and beaten. What are you implying...."oh since they got one of ours, that it is ok to get one of theirs?" That's disgusting. We all need to stand together, black, white, gay, straight, Jewish, and CONDEMN these kind of attacks! God Bless Mike's family.

First, I think we should offer payers for this man's recovery. Second, yes this is an issue of him being Gay not Black. The first two bloggers are idots. Lastly, if you want to talk about bias, what about the number of White women who get all the media attention when they are abducted. You would think there are never any Black people abducted

For every 1000 crimes black commit against white, 1 white person commits a crime against a black person. A black person has a better chance of winning the lottery than being victimized by a white person. Why do we continue to have these ridiculous, sensational news stories? Oh, I know why. Gothamist LOVES to race bait. God knows why. When our government collapses, even Ivy League educated orientals will be targets!

Oh here we go again... Apparently if a white person EVER, even unintentionally, kills/maims a black person it is racially motivated and quickly expodes into a media sensation. Am I the only one that remembers the white boy being chased by black kids up in Harlem, screaming "get whitey." He ran into traffic to escape and was struck and killed. No media sensation because it was determined to not be a hate crime. The double standard is sickening.
