Paul Lo Duca, Shawn Green and Guillermo Mota all hurt their former team and led the Mets to a 9-5 win over Los Angeles as the Mets swept the National League Division Series. Lo Duca had two RBIs, Green had three hits, and Mota threw two innings of scoreless relief. The win gives the Mets three off-days before they host the winner of the St. Louis-San Diego matchup in the NL Championship Series on Wednesday.
Saturday's win showcased the Mets' strengths -- offense and relief pitching -- but it didn't help any concerns about the starting rotation. Steve Trachsel got a four-run lead but couldn't finish the fourth inning, and the Mets lost that 4-0 lead to trail, 5-4, before they rallied off the Dodgers' bullpen. They'll be favorites against either opponent in the next round, but as the Yankees have shown, that doesn't punch any tickets.

tom, you're obviously a yankee fan? HAH!!!! How about some real enthusiasm because the mets won. Anyway, LET'S GO METS!!!!!
The one thing about playoff baseball I hate is the crap Fox baseball coverage. It is much better watching the game on the radio.
That said, the Mets are on a roll. Ya Gotta Believe!
how do you watch the game on the radio?
awesome game, awesome series. Congrats to the Mets!
I agree this is the most pathetic post on a NY team clinching an important series. It's fine to be analytical, but we might as well have been reading the WSJ's coverage of the playoff.
Maybe if the Yanks had a little more drive and hunger they wouldn't have collapsed after the second game. GO METS!!!
Apparently "duh" does not understand the idea of painting a picture with words. It is much better than listening to Tim McCarver blather like an idiot.
Lets go Red birds...!!!
