At 2-2, Jets face crossroads

After giving the Indianapolis Colts all they could handle last week, the Jets travel to Jacksonville to take on the Jaguars in a battle of 2-2 teams. When the Jets look ahead at their schedule, they see an easier path over the next three weeks -- home against Miami and Detroit before visiting Cleveland -- than they've travelled over the last two. A win Sunday against the Jaguars could be the first step to getting to their bye at 6-2.

The Jaguars -- like the Jets -- are coming off a loss in a high-scoring game; they had their defense shredded by Washington. The unit's strength is in their run defense, but the Jets don't have a running game, so that advantage could be limited.

When the two teams played last year, Chad Pennington hurt his rotator cuff and his former Marshall teammate and current Jagaurs quarterback Bryon Leftwich led a game-winning drive in overtime. After a shaky Week 1 win, the Jets have put forth a solid effort over their past three games. The Jaguars showed a high ceiling when they defeated the Steelers, but they have been inconsistent. Which Jacksonsville side shows up could determine this game.
