The "whale" imo is in architectural statement the far more advanced compared to the other proposals. Covering the overall aquarium with a net adds alot to the spreat area and ties it up to an readable figure. So the aquarium is more than the parts it consists of. I hope WRT and Ruiz-Geli.com (Cloud9) are going to build this one masterpiece in the near future.

Too bad Calatrava does not enter competitions; it's up to him to accept or reject your offer. His bleached whale bones structure would surely fit in with the Aquarium theme (check out his Wisconsin Museum of Art).

Given that, as has been pointed out, anything new is better than what's already there. Even the aquarium in that horror that is Camden, NJ is better.

anything they build will be better than what they have. the current aquarium is depressing, its like a big cinder block prison for the critters. it's about time we get a new one, Boston, Baltimore, Atlanta, everyone has a better aquarium than us.

I love the aquarium, but both times I went, I saw zero penguins. Where were they? We did get to watch them feed the walrus, though, so redemption was theirs.
