I wish Dmitri Martin were funny. I mean, he seems cool and all, but no laughs here. How do people make these ascents without ... you know, shining talent?

I'm with this guy

The "webisode" is pretty funny, albeit a really obvious Wes Anderson rip off.

That, and that so far, it has no mention of Windows Vista besides his funny little pronunciation thing on the title page.

Well, at least Microsoft updated thier marketing techniuqes a little bit. I guess with the Zune coming out they realized they should probably tap into the "cool" market.

I think she means Demetri seems Mac because he's arty and cool. I guess Mac advertising has been successful in creating that stereotype. Nice to see Demetri representing the Windows people, showin the world we are ok too!

If you reread, you'll notice I did not say Martin was IN a Mac commercial, I said he seemed like more of a "mac guy", thus I was surprised to see him in a Microsoft commercial.

To clarify...

Demetri Martin: microsoft
John Hodgman: "plays" the PC in the Mac commercials

Both are on The Daily Show, which is why i said: "Seems like Mac and PC's are pulling from the same talent pool lately." and linked to The Daily Show.

Demetri Martin is the Daily Show from time to time. He is not the Mac Guy from the commercials. Interestingly, the PC guy from the Apply Commercials also sometimes shows up on the Daily Show.

I dont think they meant that literally; what they meant was "he's seem like a mac-person" or "pro-mac" by his personality.

This guy isn't the mac guy... not from the commercials anyway... he may be a mac irl, but as for the mac guy from commercial... valleywag has the answer:

"Mac is Justin Long, the failed cheerleader in the movie "Dodgeball" and Warren Cheswick in TV's "Ed." Thanks again, readers -- if it weren't for you, I'd have to buy a TV."
