THEATER: Barbara Ehrenreich’s wrenching best-seller Nickel and Dimed has been adapted for the stage and opens in New York tonight. Like the non-fiction book, the play follows a journalist's struggle to survive on minimum wage jobs for one month. In keeping with Ehrenreich’s immersive approach, each cast member spent a week trying to get by on a minimum-wage income. After determining a standard wage (with deductions for housing and transportation in New York City), they were allotted $11.16 a day to throw around on food, medicine, Backstage and other extravagances. - John Del Signore

COMEDY: Multi talented comedy-type guy Dave Hill presents "The Dave Hill Explosion," with talking, reading, singing, dancing and some short films. This evening Sandra Bernhard will join him! We haven't seen her since she made a cameo on Will & Grace, so go check it out.
