2006_03_food_Hot Sake2.jpgWhile not listed on the website, a small bird-shaped source tells us that the gigantic (website says 66k vs. 90k sq.ft. in reality) Whole Foods in the Avalon Christie on Houston & Bowery will open in April 2007, an almost 1 year delay. Same little birdie says that contrary to reports elsewhere, they will also get to build a Whole Foods wine store (maybe not liquor) to replace the one forced out of the Columbus Circle store.

In a move likely to make AT very happy, one of the premier, under the radar Mexican spots in the SF area, Dona Tomas, will be releasing a cookbook based on the dishes served at their Oakland sit-down spot.

With the opening of his eponymous NYC restaurant any moment now, Gordon Ramsey takes some time to explain to Bloomberg (?) how he got to this successful, brooding and angry nexus. Somehow not surprised that his path intersects with Marco Pierre White – a legendary culinary madman/genius.

While the Fall 2006 issue is likely just around the corner, take a moment to see what the fine folks at Edible Brooklyn were covering in the Summer 2006 edition.
