Battle of the Book Readings

2006_09_blindside.jpg2006_09_dannymey.jpgIt happens every night - too many good possibilities for things. And tonight is no exception, with two book readings that make us wish for a cloning machine. The two readings are at downtown Barnes & Noble locations: Restaurateur Danny Meyer discussing his book, Setting the Table, at the Chelsea location while Michael Lewis will be reading from his book, The Blind Side: Evolution of a Game at Union Square. Meyer is known and beloved as the guru behind many restaurants, such as Union Square Cafe, Blue Smoke, and Shake Shack, while the excerpt of Lewis' Blind Side in the NY Times Magazine two weeks ago made everyone curious about Ole Miss left tackle Michael Oher and his new family. Clearly, this calls for B&N to offer podcasts/streaming video of their author talks.

And there's an interview with Danny Meyer in the Wall Street Journal. He gives tips on becoming a regular at a restaurant.
