#2, while I agree that Bloomberg is moderate and mostly cool-headed compared to ultra-right wingers, don't fall under the illusion that he knows ANYTHING about the constitution.

Bloomberg regularly bashes checks and balances (ie: lawsuits to city council when he doesn't get his way, fires people who don't agree with him), imposes over-reaching draconian measures snuffing free speech (banning protests in a public park, requiring permits for people to congregate, etc).

Bloomberg doesn't know jack about how our government works. He's lucky he's mayor during a time where Donald Duck looks like a political expert compared to the other wack-jobs in power.

Comment 5, it says "Bloomberg for President." I'm sure you mistyped, but that makes your comment slightly more relevant.

He should pay the deficit down with his own money.

A smart candidate would make Bloomie housing or commerce secretary in a new administration.

???

Why would Bloomy want such a lousy job? He might be interested in the top job, but certainly not some low-level anonymous staff position. He was CEO and mayor of NYC so only the role of president would make any sense for him. Not so sure even VP (taking orders from the president).

Most likely he follows the path of Bill Gates and Warren Buffet.

Outside on 45th Street, about an hour ago, there was an old-skool style taxi cab, similiar to Famous Fat Dave's Cab, giving out free taxi-rides. Only thing of relevance to this story is that it said Bloomberg for Mayor on the top.

I'm just intrigued that the Daily News exclusive is the interview with Sheekey. Yes, Sheekey has been very vocal about wanting Mayor B to run, but this seems more real for some reason. Maybe it's because the Mayor just got back from his California trip and there's tension with both parties right now.

it would be great if bloomberg ran and got the republican nomination. maybe he could bring that party back from being controlled by extremists with no understanding of the constitution.

it would be great to see President Bloomy but it won't happen. This is just too partisan country and 3rd party candidates have zero chance of winning. He is too liberal for republican party and too conservative (and not suffering Bush derangement syndrome BDS) for democrats.

What's the point in this speculation?
