An unidentifed 26-year-old was shot down by the NYPD in Boerum Hill this morning after he attacked two women with a knife. Responding to "several frantic 9-1-1 calls" police arrived on the scene, identified by the AP as "Brooklyn's restaurant row," shortly before 9 AM this morning. What they found was a 32-year-old woman being held, by a man she didn't know, with a knife pressed to her throat. When officers ordered the man to surrender he slashed the woman's throat and ran.

A block away, with the police in hot pursuit, the man grabbed another woman. When he again ignored instructions to drop his weapons an officer shot a single bullet which stuck the perp in his neck. While both women were hospitalized but appear to be in stable condition, the attacker was taken to a hospital where he was pronounced dead on arrival.
