Gothamist: WIRED NextFest hits the Javits

I have to say, the nextfest was the biggest waste of money I've seen yet. If going to see 5+ year old technology and innovations is your idea of cutting edge, start reading. Not only was the whole thing a giant advertisement for car and computer companies, but most of the exhibits were almost trivial in their importance...for example, a hydrogen concept car that was produced by GM more than 5 years ago, pre-fab housing that was all the rage in the late 90's (and is now a commercial reality). The only redeeming factor was actually seeing some of the new turbine wind generators, but even that was more interesting to read about... Thankfully, I didn't have to pay full price.

The Barbarian Group created a booth for Saturn for NextFest. here are some pictures. Pretty cool stuff. Can't wait to go.

buying advance tickets with the added "convenience charge" is about as much as buying it at the door. stupid.
