What should we make of the strange signs up near Columbia that the Bwog noticed? First, it was this slightly funny but mostly desperate threat against a kitty cat in order to increase Oren's Coffee tippage. Now, Gothamist has nothing against using pictures of adorable animals for self-promotion, but this might be going too far - how about "Tips help make me cute"?
Then there's this sign looking for ninjas. Yes, ninjas! And then, very ninja-like, the signs suddenly disappeared. Maybe people were looking for future roommates.
And downtown, NYU has decided to keep its early decision program.

We all have seen the "Every time you masturbate, god kills a kitten" joke.
when I was at Columbia in the mid-80s a guy begged at the 116th st subway entrance with a kitten - a new one every few weeks!
doesn't anyone remember that bunny website? savetoby or something... where the guy was gonna EAT THE BUNNY if the internet didn't pay up. i don't know if he ever got to eat it, but it was pretty funny at the time.
also, i doubt that kitten will ever be un-cute and killed as a result of non-tipping. stop being so sensitive/paranoid, gothamist!!
I've seen that sign for what seems like years now and I'm pretty sure that kitten in the picture may just be as old as the one in the "Hang in There!" posters.
man. slowest news day ever?
