On the Radar: A New Goodburger, Broadway Panhandler Re-Opens Today

2006_09_food_goodburger.JPG

Gothamist spotted this sign in the window at the corner of 54th and Lex the other day. Given the solid reviews, we're certainly looking forward to having a Goodburger nearby.

And don't forget, Broadway Panhandler re-opens today in its new home on 8th Street just West of Broadway in Greenwich Village. Has anyone been by yet that can give us a report?

Goodburger, 636 Lexington Avenue, (212) 838-6000.
Broadway Panhandler, 65 E 8th Street (Between Broadway and University), 212-966-3434.

If you put things in perspective, a Grande Frap at Starbucks costs about 5 bucks. BTW, saw a "coming soon" sign around Union Sq.

  • Good Burger isn't as great as Shake Shack, not by a longshot. But it beats any fast food place and isn't that much more expensive.

I passed by Broadway Panhandler today. They're having a pretty good sale -- probably to reduce inventory as the new store is probably two-thirds to a half the size of the old store. They'll have to do some work on the layout of the store. There are all kinds of maddening bottlenecks as you walk around. Overall, however, it's good to see them back.

Everything in this city is expensive...

a burger, fries and shake at shake shack can run $12, so this seems not too bad.
