American Hardcore

American Hardcore – A Tribal History has made the transition from paper to celluloid, and the film premiered earlier this week. Did anyone get to see it?

American Hardcore opens to everyone in New York this Friday. From fans to zine editors (you know, the "original" bloggers) to the musicians themselves, everyone takes some screen time to give their take on the 1980's underground musical movement. For a brief snapshot of what to expect, check out the clip above.

Of note: One of the bands bands featured in the film, Bad Brains, has a seperate movie devoted to their show at CBGB in 1982, called, what else, Bad Brains Live at CBGB 1982 (watch clip here). Brooklyn Vegan has news about their upcoming reunion.
