That's amusing. I was a cashier at Kate's Paperie on 13th street when she bought a ton of stuff and walked away while I rang her up. I had to yell at her from across the store after she wouldn't come back and pay... she was mesermized by the Kate Spade pencil cases. She struck me as flakey. And the apple people (Pancake Hollow Farm, I think) at the Fort Greene market ARE the best. The kids who run the stand are the farmer's kids, relatives and friends and they rock. The donuts are to die for.
