Very few doctors ran out of flu vaccine last season. It was the previous year that was problematic. I know for a fact there will be adequate supplies this year. Just don't leave it til the last minute: call your doctor in early November.

but i may get one this year since i had bronchitis 2x last year after the flu. something about living in nyc makes my normal colds/flu turn into some hyper disease where i end up with a cough for six weeks.

The American Lung Association also has a great resource called the Flu Clinic Locator that lists resources for getting a flu shot all across the United States. It's the most comprehensive list I've been able to find online so far, and includes free and low-cost options as well.
