Am I the only person that remembers Al Qaeda says that it is the duty of Muslims to attack and kill any Western troops that go to Sudan? And that they consider it to be further evidence of a Western "crusade" against Islam? And the Sudanese government just announced they would order their army to attack US and British forces.

I nominate Clooney to be the first boots on the ground. He can lead the Germans and French.

huh? you're pulling rabbits out of yo butt.
Please go to the event and learn something.

#1: "Al Qaeda says"... phooey on them. They're no authority on anything. If an entire country really listened to what they have to say, I'd be surprised.

#2: Nothing really to learn. Awareness of the situation in Sudan is good, can be gained by reading some international news (grouped conveniently by category/keyword on Google and Yahoo!). On the other hand, going to a park, standing around, listening to music and picking up chicks during the peace rally... not so good. I mean, what will they be doing that's helpful to the situation? It's a concert. They should sing about the devestation in New Orleans while they're at it... see what that accomplishes.

steve sizou aquatic,
Thanks for the brilliant analysis. Maybe you should joing the military and request Darfur. When a roadside bomb kills you we'll make sure you coffin arriving at Andrew's AFB makes the front page.

They're not asking for US mil, they don't want the AU troops to leave.
Why don't you join up? I bet no one in your family fought for this country.
Tough guy.

Yogi, the reality is the Sudanese government would prefer is there were no force there at all but since the AU mandate ends on Sept. 30 Clooney was specifically calling on the UN to take over and send troops. Sudan said this is a violation of the sovereignty. So who do see sending troops? Russia? China? Iran? Saudi Arabia? Venezuela? Cuab?

Curious why you felt the need to turn this into a personal attack. It really makes you look pathetic and stupid. And my family has a long history of military service.

blah blah blah, george clooney,
what next, the libtard comment?
Puhleeze, buy another clue.
you know what they say about arguing on the internet.
tough guy.

maybe Madeleine Albright can lecture on how she buried her head in the sand during the Rawanda genocide
