James McGreevey and His Big Gay Book

2006_09_confessionjm.jpgSo, next Tuesday the much-talked-about memoir by former NJ Governor James "I'm a gay American" McGreevey will be released, amidst a publicity whirlwind. Apparently people in the Oprah audience (who were asked not to speak about the show but did so anyway) weren't that impressed with McGreevey. Well, revealing that you had your gay encounters while his wife was in the hospital after giving birth to their daughter isn't anything that wins people's favor. His associates believe that the book will show he's contrite about his actions. That's all well and good - and it's good that McGreevey can be more comfortable with himself now that he's out. But does his memoir mention miring NJ in a lot of economic problems and being a corrupt politician? Just asking!

Will you be reading The Confession? The Daily News mentions today that McGreevey cruised for gay sex at rest stops. And his memoir is steamy, in a gay Harlequin kind of way.

New from T Mobile!

does he address how he wasted taxpayers money by making his boyfriend the highest paid person on his staff?

does he address how he put residents of new jersey at RISK by charging a completely unqualified person with homeland security?

who cares that he's gay, he needs to apologize to his state that trusted him and nice enough to put him in that job in the first place.

Some people might say that New Jerseyans have no one to blame but themselves. After all, it was the good citizens of New Jersey who voted him into office.

It wasn't just the people of New Jersey he put at risk by appointing his (not that good-looking) bf to be the head of the state's homeland security department--their ports are right across the river. Gay or straight, he put all New Yorkers' lives at risk. Don't be duped, gays--he's no hero.

Another corrupt sex-addicted democrat. Nothing new from NJ. NJ voters truly deserve high taxes, high crime rates and all that crap from the democratic party. No wonder people (except illegals) are escaping NJ and moving to republican controlled states.

The title of this book is the "The Confession?" A more appropriate title would be "The Jerk."

How about "The Self Absorbed Jerk"?

It's his promiscuous lifestyle that offends me, especially the anonymous sex. Who cares if he's gay?

He's just hiding behind the rainbow flag - hoping that the activist gay community will come to his defense and slap a homophobe label on his critics.

I feel sorry for his children who now know that their father was out having sex with strange men in the days after their birth. That's a nice tidbit to have to find out. How do you respond to that playground taunt?

I knew Jim when he was a freshman at CUA. He was a brash sort. I didn't particularly like him, but when he was in a bind I leant him some class notes. It didn't surprise me that he went into politics. He's got pluses and minuses just like any politician (I read up on him after the scandal). But the bottom line is that he's a decent person and whether you liked him or not, you'd wish him well. I still do.
