Mr. Big and Mike Logan All Rolled Into One

2006_09_chrisnoth.jpgThe Daily News has a feature on Chris Noth, who will forever be in Gothamist's heart as Detective Mike Logan, in spite of a magical though increasingly bloated stint as Mr. Big, the apple in Carrie Bradshaw's eye. It's all because he'll be back on Law & Order: Criminal Intent for a second season. Last season, Noth and Annabella Sciorra traded off episodes with Vincent D'Onofrio and Kathryn Erbe, but now Noth's new partner will be Julianne Nicholson (we don't know why Annabella left - she was great). Anyway, Noth has an interesting anecdote about one pre-acting job.

"I was a bartender at a place on the upper West Side, and I always wondered why the men wouldn't sit at the bar. I knew there was an upstairs.... I knew a lot of gamblers and pimps came in ... But I didn't know... It wasn't until later that a friend of mine said, 'What are you, crazy? That's a whorehouse!'"
Oh, who knew Chris Noth was so naive?

"the apple Carrie Bradshaw's eye."

missing a word?

Glad to see Chris's naive side. Makes him even more endearing as a New York icon.

Funny, when I read this, I was all, "The Upper West Side has a whorehouse?"
