As someone mentioned in our comments, there's been yet another band gear caper.
After playing a show at Warsaw in Brooklyn last nite, Dinosaur Jr had their trailer broken into...J's Amma guitar, Mountain Man guitar, Lou's Rickenbacker, cymbals, pedals...everything gone.Any info at all you can provide would be greatly appreciated, email: management@jmascis.com
Dinosaur Jr are in Amherst trying to patch together some gear for a show at Toads Place in Connecticut tonite, hopefully shows don't have to be cancelled.

After a blisterning set last night in Brooklyn, NY the band awoke this morning to find that the their trailer had been broken into and all of the gear has been taken.J's Amma guitar, the mountain man guitar, Lou's Rickenbacker... EVERYTHING IS GONE. They are still taking inventory to see what else is gone but they were pretty much wiped out.
WE NEED YOUR HELP!!! Spread the word to everyone you know, every music store, pawn shop, club... anywhere you can think they may show up.

-decal coming off. cracked headstock at top near low E peg.
color black with purple/bluish sparkle coming through. adonized pick

1961-3 Fender Jazzmaster SN# 62012.
-purple sparkle, black pickup covers. headstock repaired, a whole new
piece of wood was glued on for the top part of the headstock under the
tuners and up a 1/2" , along the whole top of the headstock. gold

-orange, white pearl pickguard, stickers we're all over it, original

My apartment was broken into recently. Can we create a post on Gothamist about it in case anyone sees my stolen property? I want all of New York to be on the lookout for my digital camera that was stolen. Digital cameras, like guitars, are very unique and rare. So if you see someone with a digital camera (specifically, one with a zoom lens, screen on the back to view the photos, and is a silver-ish color), please let me know ASAP. Thanks, New York!

Obviously this is fucked up but shouldn't a band like dino jr know better then to leave all thier gear outside at night. My friends who aren't even nearly as big always keep thier shit inside wherever they are staying.
If dino jr doesn't have insurance they should just give up on life.

I must be over a hundred years old, I think, since they were one of my fav. bands early on in high school. I feel bad that their shit got stolen though. Maybe I'll go home & dig out Green Mind or Bug, etc. on cassette & light a candle for them.
I think its rather pathetic that people are trying to use this item as as a way to try to sound funny... or whatever. I personally find ' pointing out typos', 'making fun of posting on craigslist' or 'making fun of people's ages' a lot less entertaining than the last TWO DECADES of rocking out the hardworking D. Jr and mascus have provided. Unironically, it sucks thier stuff is gone. As for being too old, pu-lease. If it werent for the 80s/70s bands today's bands would have noone to copy for thier sound, look, etc...Now if you'll excuse me I have to go listen to my Pere Ubu 8 tracks..

We never leave my gear or trailer unattended. EVER. Someone always sleeps with the gear, and thats not even in New York. I'm NYC paranoid I guess. I can't risk the loss. I've heard too many stories like this. Sucks totally. I'll keep an eye out on Bedford Ave. and in Bushwick. Do we have photos of the gear anywhere to reference? It would be a lot easier to eyeball the axes that way. Email me with links to photos please.
