THEATER: The Impact Festival and fall at the Culture Project get started in a big way with the world premiere of The Treatment, which starts previews tonight. Add together playwright Eve Ensler (of Vagina Monologues fame), stars Dylan McDermott and Portia, director Leigh Silverman, and a sharply topical play about a traumatized soldier who saw and took part in too much for his psyche to handle when he was a military interrogator, and you've got all the makings of a must-see. - Mallory Jensen

FILM EVENT: Filmmaker Michel Gondry will discuss his narrative, documentary, and music video work at the Apple Store tonight.

His upcoming film, "The Science of Sleep," is described as a "playful romantic fantasy set inside the topsy-turvy brain of Stephane Miroux, an eccentric young man whose dreams constantly invade his waking life."

We're excited for that one. "Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind" was way too long ago!

MUSIC: When we interviewed Lou Barlow last year, he described his not so favorite New York moment of, "doing coke off the back of a toilet at some coffee shop near Houston and doing interviews...talking loads of shit and then watching a friend crush and shoot ephedrine tablets."

Those must have been in the Dinosaur Jr days..and now Lou and J Mascis are back together to relive at least the music portion of those years.

After playing a show at Warsaw in Brooklyn last nite, Dinosaur Jr had their trailer broken into...J's Amma guitar, Mountain Man guitar, Lou's Rickenbacker, cymbals, pedals...everything gone.

Any info at all you can provide would be greatly appreciated-

Dinosaur Jr are in Amherst trying to patch together some gear for a show at Toads Place in Connecticut tonite, hopefully shows don't have to be cancelled.

is Lou even on this tour? I saw a listing somewhere and the photo was of a lineup that was quite lou-less.

Also Murph had been replaced by someone who was somehow even more of a caveman.
