Drive For Show and Putt For Dough

2006_8_ask_golf.jpgI'm aware of Randall's Island and Coney Island having miniature golf available. Short of these, is there anywhere else in NYC to play? I've had no luck doing the research myself, and frankly, my "regular golf" experience is limited to playing Tiger Woods on the PS2.After doing some research, we were able to find a couple other options for miniature golf around the city in addition to Randall's Island and Coney Island.

The first place we found is Flushing Meadows Golf Center, which was voted the best mini golf course in Queens. Also in Queens is Alley Pond Golf Center.

There's also the jungle themed (!) miniature golf course at Safari Amusement in Staten Island

Long Island offers the Spring Rock Golf Center for those looking to hit a few balls. Also, this site gives a listing of other courses in Long Island.

In New Jersey, the Bogota Golf Center has an indoor 18-hole course so you can play all year round.

Does anyone else know of any other courses, or how these match up against each other?

http://golfnyc.com/ lists all the "regular" golf courses in NYC. The one mentioned in Alley Pond is only a driving range with a small mini golf course.

Last I saw, the mini golf place on the Hudson near Chambers Street was closed. It looked like they were renovating...

[1] - the minigolf at the Flatbush Ave. driving range is gone, I think.

Suggestion - buy a nine iron + putter, put in an hour or two at a driving range, and play "par 3" golf instead. There are nice courses at Riis Park (Far Rockaways) and Jones Beach (LI).

As the other commenter noted, there is a minature golf course by the batting cages and volleyball courts just north of Chambers street along the Hudson. This minature golf course, however, is terrible. No obstacles of any kind, and no fun challenging hills either.
