NYPD Doesn't Like Spirit

2006_08_26_spirit.jpg The City's promised crackdown on the nightclubs on the West Side seems to have begun. Last night cops shut down the nightclub Spirit on 27th between 10th and 11th. The busting came after cops found at least three underage drinkers inside the bar, "witnessed others smoking pot, as well as drug sales."

Of course, the club will probably reopen soon enough. Spirit was one of the seven nightclubs that the NYPD shut down in their last big attempt to crack down on nightlife. The club was reopened in a matter of weeks.
