Last Night's Action: Two Streaks End

2006_04_smetslogo.jpg-Phillies 4, Mets 3: Philadelphia's Ryan Howard helped snap the Mets' 11-game winning streak at home and seven-game winning streak. Mets starter Brian Bannister had a rough start, but he settled down after allowing all four Philadelphia runs. -Giants 13, Jets 7: Preseason football is about making money first and talent evaluations second. Neither team's offensive starters could do much in this one, but Brandon Jacobs' one-yard touchdown run helped the Giants, who wore white because it was their turn.

-Brooklyn 6, Aberdeen 0: Eric Brown struck out seven in seven scoreless innings.

-Staten Island 5, Hudson Valley 4: Staten Island battled back with three in the seventh and one in the eighth for a come-from-behind win.
