Tidbits

- Ed Levine not only gives us his top ten fancypants burgers, but also his choices for fried chicken. We're hoping he goes for salad next; our cholesterol is going through the roof.

2006vendypic.jpg- It's that time of year again -- time for the Second Annual Vendy Awards! Go and nominate your favorite street food vendor; winners will be announced at a gala event on October 22nd where we'll once again be on the judging panel.

- Mercadito is now serving brunch and lunch at both of their locations and all entrees are $10.50. They'll have their tasty tacos in addition to a variety of huevos, tortas, and of course, Bloody Marias.

- Andrea Strong is at it again -- she's having another fantastic event to raise money for humanitarian relief work in Darfur. Visit www.diningfordarfur.org for tickets and details for tomorrow night's wine event.

- Can't get enough of Momofuku's David Chang? His new spot, Momofuku Ssäm Bar, is slated to open this week, featuring a sort of Korean-ish burrito wrap of the same name, filled with rice, edamame, a selection of meats and veggies, topped with hoisin and his tangy house-cured pickles. 207 Second Avenue, 212-254-3500.
