THEATER: Both the Fringe Festival and the wildly successful, but once Fringe-y, 24 Hour Plays are celebrating their tenth anniversaries this year, so why not do it together? Starting tonight, some of the original cast members and plays from the series that proved that a gimmick (conceive, write, rehearse and perform a play in a day) can produce fresh theatre, reunite in five totally different sets of five. - Mallory Jensen
Lucille Lortel Theater [121 Christopher St] // Tonight through Sun., times vary – see website for details and tickets
GAME: The Price is Right is what we used to watch when we were home sick from school. Plinko, the Showcase Showdown...it just made us feel better. Tonight check out the downtown version of the show, where we're guessing the contestants will be winning something other than a new sofa set.
9pm // Mo Pitkin’s House of Satisfaction [34 Ave A] // $5
MOVIE: HIP's outdoor movie series shows Mr. Deeds Goes to Town tonight. You know, that movie that Mr. Deed with Adam Sandler was based on. In this one, Gary Cooper stars in the story of a "simple small-town man, Longfellow Deeds, who inherits a fortune and encounters people who want to use his money for their own aims. He is able to fight all of them off until a scheming newspaperwoman (Jean Arthur) comes on the scene."
6:30pm // Elevated Acre [55 Water Street] // Free

MUSIC: The Metropolitan Opera celebrates their 40th anniversary of Met in the Park concerts. Tonight's performance (one of eight) is Giuseppe Verdi's La Traviata, the story of "a social outcast's sacrifice for love."
8pm // Great Lawn, Central Park // Free
Charles Bissel, singer of The Wrens, continues his streak of solo shows at the Knitting Factory tonight. If you haven't already checked him out, head over there tonight and you won't regret it.
