The next election will hopefully focus on affordable housing, education, crime and counterterror, economic growth (cut those taxes), sanitation, and transportation.

"Vise-like grip?" I just got married, and we've gone through the numbers, and we can live far better elsewhere. We've had a family tragedy recently (the incident was reported on Gothamist), and that might have sealed matters.

So it's essentially what I've been saying for years. Young people work their asses off to support the elderly, the mentally ill, and the lazy. A small percentage hit it big and can afford to raise a family here while the rest pack up and leave. After 30 you realize that you never do order Chinese at 4 AM anyway. And New York produces nothing of value anyway. Silicon Valley is where it's at.
