THEATER: Most people will remember some awful tragedy that marked their high school years -- the rite of passage of discovery of mortality via car crash, or skiing accident, or overdose. In Le Wilhelm's The Death in the Juniper Grove, three adults revisit the dark forest they entered as teenagers with a fourth friend who never emerged, trying to determine what exactly happened back then and how it influences who they are now. The plot's familiarity doesn't mean lack of suspense, especially with an experienced cast directed by Wilhelm himself. - Mallory Jensen

READINGS: McNally and Robinson is hosting a unique reading: Sacco and Vanzetti Must Die!, the inventive debut novel by local author Mark Binelli, recasts the famous anarchists as a pie-throwing pair of slapstick comedians who work their way from Vaudeville to the film industry, where they star in a series of violent "knife-grinder" comedies. And rather than a straightforward reading, Mark will be joined by actors Stuart Rudin (The Professional, Wonderland, The Silence of the Lambs) and Al Ramos (Director and Co-Founder of Tribeca Lab) for a unique event. - Krissa Corbett Cavouras
7pm // McNally Robinson NYC [50 Prince St] // Free
ANARCHIST PROPAGANDA: Radical Andy combines realism, poetry, and simple, direct prose to guide readers through "a world where the US government has been disbanded by a man who thinks he is dead, where a seeming imbecile holds all the knowledge of the universe, and where a boy who talks to trees can shape reality to his every whim." Sounds like a bad trip, man.
7pm // Bluestockings Bookstore [172 Allen St] // Free
MUSIC: We caught Dirty Pretty Things at SXSW earlier this year (pictured) and we're impressed. The band is basically The Libertines without Pete Doherty. Carl Barat is mending a broken collarbone, but will still play the show. Now that's rock n' roll.
8pm // Bowery Ballroom // $20

Loved the Libertines, too bad about Pete, but these guys rock..!
